The float was also used to represent the bicentennial efforts in the local community parades during the summer.

The float represented the art, valor and way of life of the First American, the Indians.

It was a floral tribute to local history & Chief Umtuch.

Authentic Northwest & Indian designs were used to portray the setting.

Red carnation petals, cedar shavings, and bits of colored seeds and flowers covered 3 styrofoam carved totem poles.

Chief Don Umtuch, great grandson of Chief Umtuch of the "battle of Battle Ground" rode his horse as the parade started.
